Vita-minds; recommended vitamins for your nervous system

The human nervous system is the most complex system which plays numerous very important roles to the human organ system; primary one of the most important function of the nervous system is the maintenance of internal physiologic homeostasis. And one of the most important bio molecules that play a crucial part to the function of this system is the vitamins. Vitamins comes into numerous classes, they differ according to their structural and chemical composition and their biological role to cellular metabolism. Among of the most important vitamins that play vital function in to this system is vitamin B complex, vitamin C, and vitamin E. These vitamins play different roles to the wellness of the nervous system, such as in the enhancement of nerve impulse transmission.

The most complex system of the human body is the nervous system, which abundantly comprises of neurons, astrocytes, glial cells, and many other supporting cells which functions either in nerve signal transmission/ conduction and maintenance (growth and repair). Generally, this system has numerous functions, and two of the most important functional roles of the nervous system are to maintain organ system homeostasis of the physiology and processing of information from the receptor cells to muscular innervations. When it comes into the maintenance and regulation of nerve impulse transmission and conduction, several bio molecules do play an important role to the wellness of this body system function; and these bio molecules are known to be vitamins. There are several types of vitamins that play critical role to the function and maintenance of the nervous system, these vitamins particularly differs according to their biological role, chemical composition and source. For this purpose, only selected vitamins will viewed, specifically those plays critical role and function.
The following are the vitamin that is good for your nervous system with classification, food source and role to nervous system function and maintenance: Vitamin B complex (B1, B2, B6, and B12), vitamin D, vitamin C, and vitamin E. The B vitamin complex is water soluble vitamin, they come into numerous types each with unique structural configurations and functional role to the organ system especially in the central nervous region; B1 (thiamine) help to facilitate impulse transmission by hastening conduction of ion exchange, B2 (riboflavin) aids in the metabolism of nerve cell and cellular nerve repair, B6 (pyridoxine) hasten many metabolic reactions such as nerve cell growth and repair, B12 (cobalamin) important mediator in nerve impulse transmission and repair; there are many food source for B complex vitamins, and this vitamin is abundantly found in meat, green leafy vegetables, fruits such as bananas and many more. The next type is vitamin C (ascorbic acid), it is a water soluble vitamin which aids in body metabolism of iron, amino acids and carbohydrates which are the important raw materials for the maintenance of peripheral and central nervous region structure; vitamin C is found abundantly in fruits and vegetables such as citrus fruits, fleshy fruit and green leafy vegetables. And lastly, is vitamin E (α-trocopherols); is a fat soluble vitamin that serves as catalyst to the enhancement of nerve signal transmission; vitamin E rich food are mostly found among cereals, seafoods, fruits and vegetables and many more.
In convergence, the general function of these vitamins to the nervous system is to enhance the function of nerve impulse transmission and maintenance (repair and nourishment) of nerve cell and other support cells (glial cells). In relation to this, there are several vitamin supplements that are available today; they come into numerous forms such as pills and concentrated liquids (extracts juices, syrup, and many more). Through these alternative vitamin supplements, it is now possible for every individual to avail these vitamins even though they don’t consume these foods that contains high amount of vitamins especially those that are important.
